Pakistan: Torrential rains kills 125 people including 53 children

Islamabad: After the onset of monsoon in Pakistan, there has been an outbreak of heavy torrential rains in the last two and a half months. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) claim, at least 125 people have been killed in the country due to this heavy rain while 71 others have been injured.

The NDMA data showed that after the monsoon rains that started on June 15, 43 people have lost their lives in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, while 34 in Sindh, 17 in Balochistan, 14 in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan region. In 11 and 6 people were killed in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. He said that 59 men, 13 women and 53 children are present among those killed.

It has been learned that 37 of the injured are from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province while the other 13 are from Balochistan, 9 Sindh, 8 Punjab and 4 from Gilgit-Baltistan area. The data showed that 951 houses were completely damaged due to rain, floods and landslides, while 356 others were partially damaged. Thousands of citizens have been affected in Pakistan due to heavy rains amid this rain.
