Ranchi: The apex court heard the death of Jharkhand's Dhanbad district sessions judge Uttam Anand on Friday. Chief Justice (CJI) NV Ramana said, "We told the Attorney General that we want your assistance in this case because the kind of incidents that are taking place are worrying." CJI has made strong comments saying it was a failure of the state and justices should have been protected.

During the hearing, the Jharkhand government counsel said that in this case, we had constituted a 22-member SIT team on the day of the incident. 2 people are being arrested and questioned. Meanwhile, CBI has also started investigating the case from Thursday. On this, CJI said that this means that you washed your hands from the matter i.e. pulled your hands back?  On the other hand, CJI also said that in 2019, the Central Government was supposed to respond to such a matter, but they did not. Now in a week, the central government responds.

"There are many cases in this country that include gangsters/high profile people," CJI said. Such people threaten the justices, in some cases CBI inquiry was ordered, but the CBI did nothing. CJI said 'sorry to observe, but there has been no change in CBI's behavior. In the Jharkhand case, we want to hear the CBI.' The apex court will hear the matter next Monday.
