BHOPAL: President of India Draupadi Murmu has stated that the speciality of humanism in the past, which has grown more significant in the modern day, is recognising the cause of human misery and demonstrating the method to relieve that suffering.

During the first day of the seventh International Dharma-Dhamma Conference, which was held in the state capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, on Friday, Murmu addressed the audience, including foreign delegates. 

She said that "Dharma-Dhamma" was the fundamental idea guiding Indian consciousness. "Our tradition maintains that religion is the force that ties everyone together. The foundation of religion is the foundation of all mankind "The major message of Eastern humanism, according to Murmu, has been the growth of the individual and society in an atmosphere of friendship, compassion, and nonviolence, among other virtues.

Murmu added that the practical manifestation of earlier humanism takes the form of moral behaviour and morally oriented social order. It has been held that maintaining and advancing this morality-based system is everyone's responsibility.

"Our lives have included prayer in some way. This is both the crux of earlier humanism and the greatest necessity of the present " she said. Murmu desired that the Eastern humanism should be advantageous to the entire international community. She also expressed her gratitude to the India Foundation and the Madhya Pradesh government for hosting the "Dharma-Dhamma" conference.

"From ancient times, religion has played a significant role in India's social structure and political processes. The democratic system we adopted after gaining independence is a blatant example of how deeply "Dharma-Dhamma" has impacted our society. Our country's symbols are a vivid representation of this. The International Dharma-Dhamma Conference, which represents the universal appeal of the Dharma-Dhamma concept, is being attended by representatives from numerous nations "Speaking during the event's opening session was Murmu.

In an effort to bring together religious, political, and thought leaders from Dharma-Dhamma traditions to consider developing a philosophical framework for the arising new world order, the three-day conference with the theme "Eastern Humanism for the New Era" started on Friday at Bhopal's Kushabhau Thakre auditorium.
