It has been five years since the 2015 release of the epic blockbuster 'Baahubali', released on June 10, directed by SS. Rajamouli and Nayak Prabhas surpassed Indian and global stardom. The film had Prabhas, Rana Daggubatti, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Nasir and Satyaraj in excellent roles.
Equivalent to the role of 'Baahubali' played by Prabhas, it was Kattappa's role played by Satyaraj that impressed audiences across the world and helped him in his second innings as a character artist.
Vijayendra Prasad, father of Rajamouli and the author of 'Baahubali' in his recent interview, shared that Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt was Kattappa's first choice, but he cast him while he was in jail. The team immediately thought of Satyaraj and cast him in the role and the rest, as they say, is history.
