Chandigarh: The Punjab Police on Sunday morning arrested fugitive Amritpal Singh, the head of pro-Khalistan organization Waris Punjab De. Regarding this, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has said that some people were trying to spoil the law and order situation, we have taken action against them. Maan said that if we wanted, we could have caught Amritpal that day too, but did not want any bloodshed or firing. 

CM Mann said that some people were trying to spoil the law and order situation. As soon as we got information about their activities, we took immediate action. Some people were caught and some people were not caught. He said that if he wanted, he could have caught Amritpal that day too, but we do not want any bloodshed or firing. The CM further said that earlier in front of the police station in Ajnala, some people had brought the palanquin in which the Guru Granth Sahib was being carried and entered inside the police station using it as a shield. On that day also, instructions were given to the DGP that no matter what happens, the dignity and respect of Guru Granth Sahib should not be affected.

CM said that, neither we used any water canon nor did any pebble stone run. Although some police personnel were definitely injured. We will do anything for the dignity and respect of Guru Granth Sahib that is in the minds of the people. The Punjab Police was greatly appreciated that they controlled the situation with great restraint. 

The High Court had given the order 5 years ago, Kejriwal government has not yet accepted it, now it will be punished!
