One cannot deny the fact that the lives of people are highly dependent on the internet. Everything you want is just a click away. While the internet has made things easier for everyone, digital entrepreneur Adnan Javid Khan gives a glimpse into the barriers that came his way without the web. Adnan who hails from Jammu & Kashmir faced the biggest setback when the state was in lockdown due to Article 370.
The controversial 2019-2021 lockdown in J&K was a preventive security lockdown and communications blackout that was imposed in August 2019 after the revocation of Article 370 that lasted till February 2021. The internet shutdown was undeniably a major challenge for Adnan as his entire work had been over the webspace. The 18-year-old somehow struggled through this phase as he had his studies at the side. Moreover, the unfortunate COVID-19 pandemic that began in March 2020 was yet another hurdle that affected Adnan’s business of online marketing.
Spending most of his teenage in learning things online, Adnan founded a company of his own in 2017 named ‘Notorious Digital Media’, formerly known as ‘Block Domain’. Through his company, the young lad has given many brands, influencers and creators the much-needed presence over the digital domain. However, Adnan calls the past three years a journey of ups and downs
Elaborating about it, he said, “Many of my clients wanted to budget everything as they had no great business during the lockdown. Along with it, the pressure of studies and exams was an altogether different ballgame. Managing work and studies became strenuous, but it was indeed fun. During this time, I have learnt to strike a balance between various aspects.” Apart from this, the young and dynamic entrepreneur also shared his take on the rise of scams happening over the internet. Adnan then went on to say that cybersecurity during this time has seen a great demand where every business wants to stay away from vulnerable threats.
“By Allah’s grace, I have gained a good clientele and have learnt a lot of things during the time of the pandemic. In a year, I have upgraded my skills in digital marketing, online branding and influencer marketing. And I feel like putting myself out of the comfort zone and embrace new things in life”, added Adnan. Maintaining the consistency of quality in his work, the supremely talented guy is also the proud owner of ‘Kzash’, an online apparel brand for kids, men and women.
