Bhopal: Senior Congress leader and former CM of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh raised the issue of EVM amid counting of votes released in Delhi on Tuesday. In the initial trends, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has got a tremendous edge, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are at the third place. The former CM of Madhya Pradesh said that EVMs are not tamper-proof and no developed country uses them.

Digvijay tweeted that no chip machine is taper-proof and please think for a minute why developed countries do not use EVMs. He urged the apex court and the Election Commission to raise the issue of EVMs. He said that, will the Election Commission and the honorable apex court think once again on the issue of EVM voting in India? We are the largest democracy in the world, and we cannot allow some unscrupulous people to hack the election results and steal the mandate of 1.3 billion people. Digvijay Singh stressed that postal ballots should also be counted.

He said that if they match the counting unit's votes, then declare the results. If they do not match, the ballots of all the polling booths should be counted in the House. All people will agree with this and will also save time because the Election Commission has been consistently arguing in favor of EVMs. The Congress, which ruled the state for 15 years under the leadership of Sheila Dixit, is also struggling to open an account in Delhi.
