Almost every opposition party is favoring the no-confidence motion against the central government. On the same matter, the Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday allotted a date to the motion for further discussion.

On the first day of the Monsoon Session the speaker while allotting Friday’s date to Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) no-confidence motion over the special status to Andhra Pradesh and proclaimed that the discussion will be followed by voting.

“The House will take up the debate (on the motion) on Friday, July 20th. The discussion will be held for the full day, followed by voting on it,” ANI quoted the speaker.

In voting the opposition party needs a majority of trust votes for which Sonia Gandhi, United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson said to media that: “Who says we don't have the numbers?”

On one hand, where the Congress leader was quite confident, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale reverted back to Sonia’s verdict as: “I think such overconfidence will serve no purpose. We will show a clear majority on July 20. We will win comfortably and show our strength to the opposition,”

Worthy to mention that even before the commencement of Monsoon season Mallikarjun Kharge, the senior Congress leader on Tuesday expressed that all other parties would have to agree and come together for the Vote of No Confidence Motion. While, on Sunday before Kharge verdict, the  TDP President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Naidu wrote to non-BJP, non-Congress parties' presidents and Member of Parliament to seek support in the opposition motion. Even he also six-subgroups of TDP party leaders were also formed to personally met and provide Chandrababu Naidu's letter and a booklet that was screaming about the injustice the state face by not getting a special status that the party is demanding regularly.
