Divya, performing brilliantly, won all her four matches in the 68 kg of the five wrestlers who played in the round robin format. Navjot Kaur became the first Indian woman wrestler to win a gold medal in this championship, having won the 65 kg title in 2018 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Thursday was a memorable day for the hosts, with Sarita More (59 kg), Pinky (55 kg) and Nirmala Devi (50 kg) making it to the final of their respective squads to at least clinch the silver medal. In the absence of Chinese wrestlers and Japan not sending their best wrestlers, the challenge was weakened slightly.
