On Friday, November 5, the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be closed for Diwali Balipratipada. The wholesale commodity markets, which include metals and bullion, will be closed as well. The futures and forex markets will also be closed. On November 4, which was the Diwali Muhurat Trading Day 2021, the market had a strong start for Samvat 2078, with the benchmark indices gaining half a percent. 

On November 4, domestic equity benchmarks posted strong gains as investors added to their positions during a special Muhurat trading session to commemorate the start of the Hindu Samvat year 2078.

The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 295.70 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 60,067.62, snapping a two-session losing streak.In a similar vein, the broader NSE Nifty rose 87.60 points, or 0.49 percent, to 17,916.80. M&M, ITC, Bajaj Auto, L&T, Kotak Bank, Sun Pharma, and Nestle India were among the top gainers on the Sensex, with gains of up to 2.87 percent.
