In French Open 2020, Men’s Singles, Novak Djokovic who was chasing his Second title in Paris and 18th Grand Slam, captured his 35th win of 2020 and entered the Roland Garros quarter-finals for the 14th time defeating Russia’s Karen Khachanov in a set of 6-4,6-3,6-3. Djokovic will face unseeded Paul Carreno Busta from Germany in the Quarterfinals. Women’s Singles, Petra Kvitova, the two-time Wimbledon champion enters the quarterfinals after eight years. She has faced Chinese Player Zhang Shuai and defeated her at a set 6-2, 6-4. 

“It’s been really difficult. It was tough on for sure. She served very well and played very aggressive. I’m really happy I managed to win even if I didn’t manage to serve it out at 5–2”, said Kvitova. Kvitova will face German Veteran Laura Siegemund in the Quarter-finals. Siegemund, 32, plays her first Grand Slam quarterfinal in women’s singles. She has defeated Former champion from Spain Paula Badosa 7-5, 6-2.  Siegemund along with Iga Swiatek (Poland), Nadia Podoroska (Argentina), and Martina Trevisan (Italy) becomes unseeded players to enter the quarter-finals. Seventh Seed Petra Kvitova missed last year's tournament because of an arm injury.

The world‘s No.1 Djokovic reached his 47th Grand slam Quarter finals said, “It was a tight match and I am happy to win in straight sets”. In other Singles, Tsitsipas in spite of an eye problem won over Dimitrov and entered the Quarterfinals.
