According to the latest data provided by the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission, the DMK has won 139 district panchayat ward member posts out of 153, while the ruling DMK's opposition party AIADMK has won only two district panchayat ward member posts. Meanwhile, the Congress managed to win eight posts. The counting of votes began on October 12. However, the results are yet to be declared officially by the State Election Commission.

Also, for Panchayat Union Ward member posts, DMK bagged 974 seats out of total 1,421 seats, followed by AIADMK 212 seats, Congress 33 seats and BJP eight seats. DMK secured 89.54 per cent seats in the Zilla Parishad, while AIADMK got 1.31% seats. The Congress managed to secure 5.23% of all Zilla Parishad seats. PMK won 47 councilor seats, followed by AMMK with four and DMDK with one.

Interestingly, parties like 'Third Front' or Kamal Haasan's MNM, actor-director Seeman's NTK, TTV Dinakaran's AMMK, S Ramadoss's PMK and actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth's DMDK performed poorly.
