The era of online has arrived. Now all the work is done online while sitting at home. Whether it is paying the electricity bill or the bank's work. All the work has started to be done with the help of fingers. Online banking has put all your banking and financial transactions at your fingertips. Banking in India has become much more user-friendly with technology. Whether you have to open a new account, pay an EMI or transfer money from one account to another or pay your bills, everything becomes possible in seconds. But phishing attacks and online frauds are on the rise day by day. Fraud has started finding new ways to cheat people through email, spam calls and many ways. Now ICICI bank's account holders are being cheated, due to which the bank has warned about Facebook and WhatsApp money fraud.

ICICI warns users: Banks are making various efforts to secure their customers, but despite that, bank fraud has increased in a few years. ICICI Bank has alerted its customers about the possible fraud in a tweet, 'Beware of fraudsters who are trying to convince you to share your UPI PIN over the phone. Be safe, practice #SafeBanking." This tweet has gone viral.

The bank says that many scammers are increasingly using customers' WhatsApp or Facebook accounts to send messages to their contacts. Since the request comes from a known source, many contacts are actually sent the required amount. ICICI warned customers, "In such cases, be alert and always confirm. If your WhatsApp or Facebook account has been hacked in any way, please inform the authorities.'' In another blog, ICICI also shared some tips to stay safe from mobile banking or internet banking.

Tips to stay safe from mobile banking:-

- If you have received the message and it has a URL, don't click on it.
- If you have to share your mobile with someone else, be sure to clear the browsing history, cache, and temporary files and block your mobile banking application.
- Only the app should be downloaded from the official app store such as the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and more.
- Never disclose personal information or online banking credentials via e-mail or text message as these can be used for identity theft.
- As soon as you have completed your transaction, log out of online mobile banking or the app. Also, make sure you have closed that window. Always verify app permissions and only provide permissions that have relevant context for the purpose of the app.
- Avoid using unsecured, unknown Wi-Fi networks. If you encounter any kind of banking fraud, report it to the bank immediately.
