The footage also reveals individuals with cameras and lighting equipment inside the operation theatre, recording the pre-wedding video. Following the video's circulation on social media, Karnataka's Health Minister, Dinesh Gundu Rao, instructed Dr. Abhishek's removal from service, emphasizing that government hospitals are meant for public healthcare and not personal activities.
Minister Rao expressed his dismay on X, stating, "A doctor who conducted a pre-wedding shoot in the operation theatre of Bharamasagar Government Hospital in Chitradurga has been dismissed from service. Government hospitals exist for the healthcare of people and not for personal work. I cannot tolerate such indiscipline from doctors."
He further underscored the importance of adhering to government service rules for all contract employees, including doctors and staff in the health department. Moreover, he urged caution to prevent such incidents from occurring in government hospitals, emphasizing the need for everyone to prioritize their duties for the benefit of the common people.
Meanwhile, Chitradurga's District Health Officer, Renu Prasad, clarified, "We had appointed him through the National Health Mission (NHM) on a contract basis a month ago as a medical officer. The operation theatre in question is currently unused and is undergoing repairs. It has not been in operation since September."
