New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Roger Binny has completely distanced himself from the wrestlers protest case. "Contrary to the claims of some media reports, I would like to clarify that I have not issued any statement regarding the current status of protest by wrestlers. I am confident that the competent authorities are working to resolve this issue. As a former cricketer, I feel sports should not be linked to politics."

In fact, Roger Binny needed to give this explanation because on Friday, June 2, 2023, some members of India's 1983 World Cup-winning cricket team issued a statement. They (former cricketers) were disturbed and disturbed by the coercion by security personnel against prominent Indian wrestlers in Delhi earlier this week. Since Roger Binny was also part of the 1983 World Cup-winning cricket team, it was believed that he too was distressed and upset with the condition of the wrestlers.

However, BCCI chief Binny later issued a statement and distanced himself completely from the matter. Let us tell you that former BCCI president and former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly also distanced himself from the protest of wrestlers. Ganguly had said that this is a fight of wrestlers and they should fight this battle themselves. After Ganguly's statement, Vinesh Phogat also took a dig at him. Phogat had said, "Everyone should fill their houses, the people should go to hell. If Ganguly wants to know about the matter, come to us and we will explain everything to him."
