In a way to continue dialogue and find an amicable solution with farmers union Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar along with Piyush Goyal Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution outlined the various suggestions to address their concerns about the Farm Acts. Tomar said Union Government is willing to give assurance on MSP and procurement 

Government is willing to ensure a level playing field in transactions inside and outside the existing APMC Mandi’s, Government has said farmers can approach civil courts in disputes besides the SDM courts, Government is willing to address concerns regarding penalty for stubble burning and in the proposed electricity amendment Bill and has assured that farmers land will be protected under the new farm Acts.

In the press briefing both ministers spoke about the various measures that the Modi government has taken since its inception to improve the lot of farmers and towards strengthening the Agriculture sector. And about the recent farm laws they said the latest Acts were reforms undertaken after many rounds of consultations with stakeholders, give freedom to farmers to sell anywhere and strengthen farmers with a protective legal framework when dealing with private companies. They highlighted budgetary allocations towards agriculture the highest ever and various schemes like PM Kisan initiative, Neem coated urea scheme. They emphasized that Agri laws are formulated in a way that must at least get 1.5 times the production cost.
