From Tuesday, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh will conduct a state-wide surveillance effort, in which health authorities will go door-to-door to identify those suffering from viral fever, Covid symptoms, and other ailments caused by seasonal changes. This is intended to keep water-borne illnesses out of the state.

During a high-level meeting on Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered responsible officials to admit only critical patients to hospital OPDs/IPDs. In places where more than one dengue patient has been found, health professionals have been ordered to spray anti-larva and conduct fogging operations. People are also being encouraged to take preventative steps to prevent mosquito breeding in and around their homes.

Source reduction operations should be carried out on a regular basis in rural and urban regions, according to the recommendations, he added. "Make sure patients' health updates are given to the family members at regular intervals. Patients and their relatives should be contacted through the CM Helpline too," he said.
