In the counting of votes, which began at 11 am on Thursday, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Draupadi Murmu defeated United Progressive Alliance (UPA) candidate Yashwant Sinha in the third round of counting.

In fact, Draupadi Murmu got the 5 lakh 43 thousand 261 votes required to win in the third round itself. In the third phase, she got 5 lakh 77 thousand 777 votes. At the same time, the opposition's joint candidate Yashwant Sinha could muster only 2 lakh 61 thousand 62 votes. It also includes votes from 20 states, including MPs from the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha. However, the counting of other states is still underway. PM Narendra Modi and BJP National President JP Nadda visited the residence of Draupadi Murmu and congratulated the new Excellency.

The country's first tribal president will be sworn in on July 25:-

At a time when India is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the daughter of a tribal community born in a remote part of Eastern India has been elected as the President of the country. Congratulations to Draupadi Murmu. Outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also conveyed their greetings and good wishes to Murmu. President Ram Nath Kovind's term ends at midnight on July 24. The swearing-in ceremony of the new President will be held on July 25.
