'uicide Drones Swarm US Base in Syria in Retaliation for Baghdad Airstrike:

Reports of explosions near a US army base in Syria surfaced on Wednesday, as per the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese media network Al Mayadeen.

The base, situated in the Al-Omar oil field within the Kurdish-controlled region of northeastern Syria, near Deir ez-Zor, has housed American troops since at least 2017.

Sources from Egypt-based Bayan-gate news described the attack as a "swarm of suicide drones," marking the second assault of this nature on US bases in the region this week.

Arab media has linked the attack to retaliatory US airstrikes against Iranian-aligned groups and their positions. These airstrikes were in response to the deaths of three American servicemembers at a base near the Syrian border in Jordan earlier this week.

Today's attack follows closely after a suspected American-led assassination of a Kataib Hezbollah commander in Baghdad.

Kataib Hezbollah has been actively involved in escalating tensions, launching multiple attacks against US positions in the Middle East. They are believed to have orchestrated the fatal attack in Jordan and subsequently renounced further assaults on American bases after their involvement was revealed.

Additionally, Kataib Hezbollah has been accused of collaborating with other Iran-aligned forces, such as Yemen's Houthis, in attacks against US bases. Operating under the umbrella term "Islamic resistance in Iraq," they have conducted drone strikes not only against American bases but also targeted Israel.

The Islamic Resistance of Iraq is closely tied to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, which has been a target of recent American airstrikes.
