New Delhi: The Modi government at the Centre has taken an aggressive stand against drugs, and the government's effort is to get rid of them in the next 25 years. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has bluntly told the heads of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force that India has to become a completely drug-free country in 2047, before the completion of 100 years of independence, to achieve this goal and crack down on drug peddlers. For this, every possible effort has to be made.

According to media reports, in the meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah gave a clear message to the drug smugglers and their shelters that these people are not well. The Home Minister also instructed all the key officials that we have set a target of a drug-free India by 2047. Amit Shah said that the culprits of the destruction caused by drugs are not those who consume them but those who do their business. He said that the one who is consuming drugs is only a victim, but he is the real culprit who is directly or indirectly connected with its business.

It may be mentioned that the first National Conference of the State Heads of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force was organised by the Union Home Ministry in Delhi, in which the heads of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force of almost all the states participated. During the meeting, Amit Shah directed that the rehabilitation of the victims of drugs is very important and should be kept a priority. Home Minister Amit Shah told the officers of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force present in the meeting that those who are involved in the drug business will be ruthless and deal strictly with them; only then will we be able to win this decisive war against narcotics.
