Candidates who are disable and seeking admissions or stuying in Delhi University, can take the benefits of various technologies from this year. To empower students, the Delhi University's Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) is working to provide physically impaired students with smart phones, smart canes, hearing gear and wheelchairs.

Anil Aneja, officer on special duty (OSD), EOC said, ''The students have already been provided laptops and now we will give them accessible smart phones, canes, wheelchair and hearing gear. These will be provided through the central government's Assistance for Person with Disability (ADIP) scheme".

Students with more than 40 per cent disability, will be considered for the reservation in this category.

Starting this year, they will be required to upload self-attested copies of disability certificates with the registration form.

Around 468 candidates in the category have applied to DU till now.
