In Agra, 5 people have lost their lives amid mud sinking during the excavation of the septic tank. The death toll includes 4 members of the same family. The incident is of Pratappura Village of Agra. Agra District Magistrate Prabhu N Singh said, "The five were involved in digging a septic tank when the soil was dug, a few moments after which the mud broke out and one person lost his life on the spot, while four others were taken to SN Medical College. Where he was pronounced dead on arrival."

It has been revealed that the incident took place on Tuesday evening. CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the incident. He has announced a compensation of Rs 2-2 lakh to the kin of the deceased. The deceased have been identified as Hari Mohan (17) Anurag (14) and Avinash (16). The three brothers were the sons of Surendra Sharma.

According to information received, his uncle Sonu Sharma, 32, went into the pit to save the boys but has lost his life in the process. Yogesh Baghel, 20, who lived in the neighborhood, has also lost his life in the accident. "On the directions of the Chief Minister, compensation of Rs 2 lakh is going to be paid to the kin of each of the five deceased. Sonu Sharma's family will get Rs 5 lakh under the Kisan Accident Insurance Scheme as land is in their name." The pit was being dug in Surender Sharma's house. The dead bodies have been sent for post mortem.
