E-NAM kicks of, registers 250 mandis across 10 states of the country

E-NAM (Electronic National Agricultural Market) has been kick-started as 250 mandis of 10 states of the country are now integrated in to it. The E-NAM had a trade of 421 crore,said the Agricultural minister Radha Mohan Singh. An app has been launched to access the information of the prices of the commodities listed in the E-NAM. This will increase the participations of farmers and encourage them to take the advantage of this new initiative by the government.

The target  is to integrate 585 mandis by the March 2018 into the E-NAM. This scheme was launched by PM Modi when he put the 22 mandis of eight states into the e-nam list. This integration to electronic platform will help farmers to earn more and efficiently.

Showing the stats the agricultural minister told "So far, 1,53,992 tonnes of agriculture produce worth Rs 421 crore has been transacted on e-NAM platform. As many as 1,60,229 farmers, 46,688 traders and 25,970 commission agents have been registered on the e-NAM at present”
