New Delhi: Earthquake threat is looming large in north eastern states of the country. After the earthquake last Friday and Saturday, tremors were felt in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh even today, late on Sunday night. No casualties have reportedly been reported in the earthquake. According to the National Centre for Sysmology (NCS), tremors have been felt in Shirui village of Manipur at around 1.22 pm today i.e. The intensity is said to have been 3.6 on the richter scale. Earlier, an earthquake was recorded at Pangin in Arunachal Pradesh at 1.02 pm.

In fact, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 3.1 on the richter scale. Meanwhile, relief news has been reported that no casualties have been reported in both these places so far. Assam had a 4.2 magnitude earthquake late last Friday night. In fact, this was the fifth earthquake in 24 hours in the North-Eastern Region. Recently, the National Seismological Centre had said in a report that the earthquake occurred late at 1.70 pm and its epicentre was located at a depth of 30 kilometres near Tezpur, the district headquarters of Sonitpur.

There were two more earthquakes in the state last Friday, one of which was a 4.1 magnitude earthquake and their centres were also in Sonitpur district. In fact, apart from Assam, last Friday, a three-magnitude earthquake struck Chandel district of Manipur and another 2.6 magnitude earthquake with its epicentre in West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.
