Cambodia has lifted a ban on travellers from India after the country has witnessed a decrease in new Covid-19 cases, Health Minister Mam Bunheng said in a statement. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen approved the lifting of the ban, according to reports.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 6, the Health Ministry decided to lift the temporary entry ban by land and air imposed on April 27 on Indian citizens and foreigners travelling from India, through India, or those with a travelling history from India within the last 3 weeks before entering Cambodia.
On lifting ban, the Indian Ambassador Devyani Khobragade has sent a message to express thanks to the Cambodian govt saying - “We appreciate and thank the Royal Government of Cambodia for this decision which greatly helps bilateral economic and people to people contact.” Ambassador Devyani posted on the Embassy’s Facebook page that the Indian government was really thankful to the government for lifting the ban to improve connectivity between both countries.
