Ford's decision to close its operations in India has resulted in the discontinuation of all of the company's vehicles produced in the country. The EcoSport, which has been one of the most popular Made-in-India vehicles from the American automaker, is now being pulled out of a number of other countries as well. According to reports, the Ford EcoSport will also be phased out in the United States. The EcoSport did not endure long in its homeland nation before it was decided not to continue manufacture.

According to The Detroit Free Press, the Ford EcoSport will be available in the United States until mid-2022. In Europe, production will be based in Romania, with models from the range being produced there. The reason for this decision is that the Ford EcoSport has not been a commercial success for the company, despite being one of the brand's most iconic trucks a few years ago and capturing the hearts and minds of thousands of people. As a result, the EcoSport will be discontinued out from production, at least in its native land.

Ford introduced the EcoSport in the United States in 2016, and it went on sale for the first time in 2018. The popularity of the subcompact SUV has waned over time. Last year, the North American business began to reduce the number of units it produced; the vehicle was reportedly supplanted in sales by the Bronco Sport line, and Ford did not waste any time in dismantling it.
At launch, it was seen with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo engine and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, available with all-wheel drive. Now, ditching the EcoSport allows space within Ford's production to develop other vehicles.

In India, the Ford EcoSport subcompact SUV has been one of the best-selling vehicles from the US-based carmaker. It was launched in the country for the first time in 2013. The carmaker has been spotted testing in what is believed to be a new facelift version of the EcoSport SUV recently. However, it will not see daylight in India after Ford's decision to shut down its plants.
