NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is gearing up to clamp down on former Finance Minister and veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram in the INX media case, as Chartered Accountant Bhaskar Raman has revealed that a Shell company of Karti Chidambaram, son of former finance minister, paid the trip and other expenses of Chidambaram.

A senior ED source, who is investigating the investigation, told the press that "these disclosures were made by Raman during interrogation last year." IT Department had raided and seized on Chase Global Advisory Services in Chennai during the operation.

"When the papers and hard disks were shown to Raman, he accepted it," Raman was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last year, and is currently out on bail. According to sources, when former Finance Minister P Chidambaram was questioned about his travel expenses and other expenses being paid by the shell company, he termed it baseless.
