Lucknow: The festival of Akshaya Tritiya, Parashuram Jayanti and Eid were celebrated simultaneously across the country on Tuesday (3 May 2022). During this, Uttar Pradesh has set an example. There has been no case of blocking of roads for Eid prayers this year. Where space was scarce, prayers were offered in shifts. CM Yogi Adityanath congratulated the people of the state for this.

CM Yogi tweeted and wrote, 'Today many religious events have been completed safely in Uttar Pradesh. The people of the state have taken a good initiative by not organizing them on the roads. For a healthy and harmonious society, it is necessary to have respect for faith and rule of law together. This will become the basis for the development of the state and self-reliance of the citizens. Greetings to everyone!' Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar also thanked the religious leaders for celebrating the festivals peacefully, saying that everyone celebrated their respective festivals with the 'traditional Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb'.

He said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, prayers were offered peacefully at around 32,000 places. There was no untoward incident anywhere in the state and Eid was celebrated by the people with traditional fervor and gaiety. Tight security arrangements were made for this. It is being told that this is the first time in UP that Eid prayers were not offered on the streets. In areas like Loni and Hapur, where space was scarce, prayers were offered in different shifts. Let us inform that a few days ago, Muslim religious leaders were requested not to offer Namaz on the road.
