Lucknow: Amidst the ongoing assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission has taken a major decision. The commission said that the fee waiver scheme of one of the two sisters studying in the same school should be discontinued. Objections are being raised as the Election Commission says the scheme may have an impact on voting.

In fact, the Election Commission has objected to the fee waiver scheme of one of the two sisters. The commission says this could have an impact on voting. The Commission gave the reason for this and said that the information of the beneficiaries is being collected under it. This action is a violation of the election code of conduct.

Following this, the Director of Basic Education Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh issued an order and immediately stopped all such actions. This ban will continue until the election is over. On October 2021, CM Yogi Adityanath had announced that if more than one daughter is studying in an educational institution, then the fees of the other girl child will be waived off.
