Srinagar: This report is enough to embarrass those seeking re-implementation of Article 370 of the Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders, who chanted the loss of the people of the valley due to the removal of Section 370, are not ashamed of the fact that even after 70 years of independence, people in the state had to remain without electricity.

However, under the Saubhagya scheme, the Modi government at the Center has provided electricity to many villages in the hill-border areas in Nowshera sub-division of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to media reports, even after 70 years of independence, there was no electricity in the villages. Speaking on the laudable development work in Rajouri, Abdul Hamid, a local resident said, 'We are grateful to the government. Earlier, our children could not study. We had to go to another village to charge the phone.

Assistant Engineer Varun Sadotra related to electricity has said, 'Even after 70 years of independence, electricity was not reached in many border areas. Under PM Modi's Saubhagya scheme, electricity was delivered to remote border villages, which gave a boost to the villagers. According to reports, around 44 panchayats in Nowshera have been connected to the power project. More than 1500 families living in these remote villages now have access to electricity. Saubhagya scheme provides free electricity connection to poor households.
