USA: Elon Musk refutes claim that he discussed Ukraine directly with Vladimir Putin. Musk informed Ian Bremer, the head of political-risk advisory Eurasia Group, that he had recently spoken with the Russian president, he wrote in a note to clients on Monday.

Bremer claimed that the talks were preceded by a series of tweets from Musk urging Ukraine to demand a diplomatic solution to Russia's invasion and formally annexing Crimea.

Musk said in a tweet on Tuesday that he did not talk about the war with Putin. Bremer tweeted a few hours later in response to what Musk told about his conversations with Putin.

According to Bremer, "I write honestly, without fear or favoritism, and this week's update was no different." "I have publicly expressed my admiration for Musk as the prodigious businessman who is changing the world. He lacks geopolitical expertise.

Musk replied a little later: "Bremer should not be trusted."
Bremer writes weekly notes for Eurasia Group, which are sent to thousands of private and business clients, including macro hedge funds, family offices and multinational corporations. The company provides political-risk analysis compiled by a worldwide advisory network.

Bremer said in his most recent note that Musk informed him about two weeks ago that he and Putin had discussed the president's minimum demands to end the war.

These requirements included allowing Ukraine to leave Crimea, accepting a formal state of neutrality, and recognizing Russia's Luhansk and Donetsk-proposals, which Musk made in tweets on October 3.

The conditions are in line with some demands that Russia has repeatedly said are necessary to end the offensive, which began in February.

Bremer came forward as a result of Musk's tweets about Ukraine, he claimed in his note.
He wrote, "I wasn't planning on writing about this. But writing about what's happening feels important."

No comment from Bremer was forthcoming. A spokesman for the Eurasia Group declined to comment further.
