Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray was being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) about the Rs 80-crore transaction in the Kohinoor building case. Several questions of ED were related to this during the interrogation. Raj Thackeray also came out of the consortium in the year ILFS surrendered its shares for Rs 90 crore. The ED had questioned Raj Thackeray for about eight-and-a-half hours on Thursday.

Raj Thackeray and his business partner Rajan Shirodkar started a company called Matosree Infrastructure. Matosree Infrastructure, Umesh Joshi (son of Manohar Joshi) and ILFS had built Kohinoor CTNL and purchased 4.8 acres of Kohinoor Mill land for Rs 421 crore. ILFS invested Rs 225 crore. But in 2008, ILFS came out with tremendous losses from the company by selling its shares at Rs 90 crore.

Raj Thackeray's Matoshri Infrastructure also came out with profits from the Kohinoor CTNL Consortium. The ede's investigation found that out of the money received from ILFS, Rs 80 crore was transferred by Kohinoor CTNL to Matosree Infrastructure. ED suspects that out of that 80 crore, 20 crore have been transferred to Raj Thackeray. Ed has not summoned Raj Thackeray for questioning on Friday, but may be summoned again if required.
