Jaipur: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot's brother Agrasen Gehlot has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He has been summoned to Jaipur for questioning today. Let us tell you that Agrasen Gehlot is accused of illegal export of subsidized fertilizers.

Last year, the Enforcement Directorate raided several hideouts related to Agrasen Gehlot in connection with the fertilizer scam (Fertilizer Scam). Agrasen Gehlot's house and establishments were raided on July 22, 2020 under money laundering. He was then also summoned by the ED. But then Agrasen Gehlot did not appear for questioning. The Jodhpur bench of the Rajasthan High Court had stayed the arrest of Agrasen Gehlot only last week. The court had held that Agrasen Gehlot would cooperate with ED in the investigation. The order was passed on a petition filed by Agrasen Gehlot giving him interim relief.

Let us tell you that the Congress party is attacking the central government in this case. The Congress alleges that the BJP government at the Centre is deliberately targeting the Rajasthan chief minister. On the other hand, Agrasen Gehlot is alleged to have been exporting the Muriate of Potash (MOP), a fertilizer owned by him, which is banned for export. MOP is imported by Indian Potash Limited (IPL) and then distributed among farmers at concessional rates.
