Lucknow: Former UP Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati will be tightened by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today (July 16). According to information, Gayatri Prasad will be questioned on Tuesday (16th July) in connection with the mining scam investigation and disproportionate assets. Gayatri Prajapati will be questioned in Lucknow jail.

The ED has been allowed to be questioned by the PMLA court in Lucknow between July 16 and July 19. In view of this, on Tuesday, Zonal Director Rajeshwar Singh at ED's Zonal Office also gave important guidelines to the team questioning the former minister. After the ED, the CBI team is also likely to question Gayatri.

It may be mentioned that Gayatri, while being the mining minister in the Akhilesh government, had lodged an FIR on January 2 this year on the illegal allotment of 8 mining leases in Hamirpur district, ignoring rules. The FIR mentioned the investigation into the role of the then Mining Minister.

It was on this basis that ED had registered a case of money laundering. The ED had registered a case against all the accused named in the CBI FIR. IAS B, accused in the scam. Several other accused, including Chandrakala, have been questioned. The case is also close to Yatri Prajapati on ED's radar, including Gayatri Prajapati.
