The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday announced the schedule of the three-match domestic Test series against the West Indies to be held in July. However, this series is still awaiting government approval. The series will be held in a biologically safe environment in the empty stadium and with it will be the return of international cricket which is suspended due to Coronavirus epidemic. According to the proposed schedule, the Test series will begin on July 8 and will be played at the Agias Bowl in Hampshire and Old Trafford in Lancashire as both stadiums also have hotels in place. The first Test will be played from July 8 to 12 in the Agias Bowl. While the remaining two Tests will be played at Old Trafford from 16 to 20 July and 24 to 28 July.

According to media reports, Ben Stokes may be the captain of the England team in the first Test of the series. News agency IANS has told that Joe Root, captain of England Test team, can stay out of the first Test. Root's wife Carrie is about to give birth to her second child in early July. Meanwhile, the ECB said in a statement, "The West Indies team will reach Britain on Tuesday June 9, the team will then go to Old Trafford for segregation and training. They will be there for three weeks before going to the Ajias Bowl before the start of the first Test.

According to the news agency, ECB's Competition Director Steve Elworthy said that these dates depend on the approval of the government. Elworthy is the head of English cricket's plan to organize cricket in a biologically safe environment.
