English Premier League (EPL) club Chelsea have beaten Brighton 3–1 in their first match of the 2020–21 season, winning the league. As reported by ESPN, Chelsea made a great start in the match played. The team opened their account in the 23rd minute of the match. Jorginho scored the penalty for the team. Chelsea has maintained this lead till half time.

After half-time, Brighton scored 1–1 in the 54th minute thanks to a goal from Leandro Brossard. However, two minutes later, Reece James scored a goal to put Chelsea ahead 2–1.

Just 10 minutes after James's goal, Kurt Zouma scored the third goal for Chelsea to take a 3–1 lead, which is going to last. Chelsea will now play their next match against defending champions Liverpool on Sunday. Brighton's team will welcome Portsmouth on Thursday.
