New Delhi: Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley passed away on Saturday after battling a prolonged illness. He was 66 years old and had been ill for a long time. Today, he breathed his last at the AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. Senior BJP leader Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS on 9th August after complaining of nervousness and weakness. 

Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah had gone to AIIMS to learn about his health, besides prime minister Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, etc. Jaitley's condition worsened again late Friday evening. Their hearts and lungs were not working properly, so they were placed on a machine.
