NEW DELHI: In connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will question former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today, March 7, in Tihar jail.

Sisodia was sent in judicial custody yesterday by Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court for a period of 20 March. Sisodia was brought before special judge M K Nagpal after the court had already approved a seven-day period of house arrest for questioning. Sisodia was brought before special judge M K Nagpal after the court had already approved a seven-day period of house arrest for questioning.

The CBI alleged throughout the proceedings that AAP supporters and the media had "politicised" the situation. The CBI said the witnesses yet to be confronted are "terrified" by the conduct of the accused. "They are giving this a political spin. Even before the court ruling is issued, entire arguments are being broadcast in the media "The CBI lawyer informed the court.

On February 26, Sisodia was detained in connection with alleged irregularities in the formulation and application of Delhi's National Capital Territory's excise policy (GNCTD).

In the meantime, the court approved Sisodia's request to have medication prescribed during the CBI officials' Stay. He has also been permitted to carry a pair of spectacles, a diary, a pen, and a copy of The Gita during the judicial custody period.

Sisodia claimed in court that CBI agents are "providing me whatever I need, taking good care of me, treating me with respect, and not employing any third-degree tactics. Yet they are forcing me to sit for nine to ten hours every day while asking the same questions over and over again." The Judge instructed CBI not to enquire again about this.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said in his bail application to a trial court that keeping him in detention would be ineffective because all of the recoveries had already been made.
