Jaipur: A sulphuric acid tank exploded last Saturday at the Designer Sulfonate Chemical Factory in Umarda area of Udaipur in Rajasthan. The explosion was so horrible that the operator working on the tank fell 200 feet away, causing a painful death at the site. It has been revealed that the Hiranmari police arrived at the spot on the incident. Primarily, it is being said that the tank was filled with sulphuric acid over capacity, which did not contain the acid pressure in the tank and flew the tank lid with a sharp bang.

SI Hamer Lal of the Hiranmari police station said that Keshav Nagar, resident of Atamprakash Jain is the owner of the factory, and police is questioning him to ascertain the reasons for the accident and the investigation can be duly fone if found negligent. The factory-made liquid with sulphuric acid, police said. The plant operator Veniram Dangi was working on a tank during the incident.

In this regard, the police said that the explosion was so sharp that the Veniram on top of the tank fell away and cut his leg and fell about 200 feet away from the tank. A lot of villagers gathered together to hear the blast. When the police arrived, they were gathered outside the rural factory and were expressing anguish against the factory owner. The rural bodies were on the insistence of not removing, but the police assured the proceedings of the House after which the body has been shifted to Mortuary.
