Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has conveyed a positive outlook regarding the demands put forth by the Maratha community. He underscored the government's commitment to addressing their concerns, specifically emphasizing efforts to grant reservation in government jobs and education. This assurance came during a meeting with a Maratha delegation in Pandharpur.

Fadnavis expressed support for the Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, in his endeavors to provide reservation for the Maratha community. The community has long sought inclusion in government jobs and educational institutions. Fadnavis reassured the delegation of the government's steadfast commitment to resolving these issues. During discussions with the Maratha delegation, other demands were presented, including securing land for the construction of Maratha Bhavan in Pandharpur. Additionally, the delegation sought the initiation of projects for economic development, such as sub-centers of Annasaheb Patil Arthik Vikas Mahamandal and the construction of a hostel for students in the temple town.

Fadnavis affirmed the state government's positive response to all these demands. He mentioned that the Solapur district collector would present available land parcels within the next 15 days for the construction of Maratha Bhavan and a hostel. The government pledged to allocate the chosen site, and construction is expected to commence before the next monsoon season.
