NEW DELHI: Farmers' organisations have announced an end to their year-long agitation after the Central government handed over a revised plan, as they demanded. On Thursday, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) proclaimed this at the Singhu border.
Farmers have announced that they will leave Delhi's boundaries on Saturday, December 11, and gather on January 15. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the umbrella body of the farmers' union spearheading the protests, convened into a meeting soon after the Centre's revised plan arrived to chart out future line of action.
Following the repeal of the law, the Centre presented a proposal to the farmers, which they approved. In response to their demand, the Centre has issued a written statement. Farmers protesting at the Singhu border have begun to dismantle their tents. They were also seen joking about and swapping treats.
