New Delhi: Anil Ghanwate, a member of the Supreme Court-constituted committee on 3 agricultural laws brought by the Central Government, made the sealed report public on Monday (21 March 2022). The report claimed that 86 per cent of the farmers' organizations across the country were happy with the government's three agricultural laws. These farmers' organizations were representing about 3 crore farmers. It is noteworthy that this report has come at a time when even 5 months have passed since the withdrawal of agricultural laws. You will remember that when some farmer organizations surrounded the national capital Delhi, reports of violence and riots were continuously coming, then many people also criticized the Supreme Court for not taking a clear decision in this matter. However, this report no longer has that much relevance. In view of the demonstration of some farmers against these three agricultural laws, the government announced the withdrawal of these laws in November 2021.

Let us tell you that this report was submitted to the top court on March 21 last year in a sealed cover, but people did not know anything about what was in this report. On Monday, a member of the committee, Anil Ghanwate, made this report public. Anil Ghanwate said, 'On March 19, 2021, we submitted the report to the Supreme Court. We wrote to the court thrice urging it to release the report. But we did not get any response. He further says, 'I am releasing this report today. Three laws have been repealed. So there is no relevance now. According to him, the report will help in formulating policies for the agriculture sector in future. Ghanwate further said that by repealing the laws, the Narendra Modi government has made a big political mistake. Ghanwate admitted that this report could have explained the advantages of agricultural laws to the farmers and prevented them from being repealed. Let us inform that on 12 January 2021, the Supreme Court had constituted a committee regarding the farmers' movement.

Agriculture experts Ashok Gulati, Dr. Pramod Kumar Joshi and Anil Ghanwate were made members in this committee. The apex court had formed a 4-member team, but farmer leader Bhupinder Singh Mann distanced himself from it. According to Ghanwate, even in the sealed report, it was advised not to repeal agricultural laws. Ghanvat has said that the withdrawal or non-implementation of these agricultural laws for a long time is against the sentiments of those who silently support it. Ghanwate said that before the preparation of this report, talks were held with 73 agricultural organizations in front of the committee, these organizations represent 3.5 crore farmers of the country. Of these, 61 farmer organizations supported the agricultural laws brought by the central government. Most of the agitating farmers came from Punjab and North India, for which MSP is an important aspect. But these farmers were misled by the Left leaders. At the same time, it was also spread the illusion that this would end the MSP. Whereas there was nothing like this in the law. Anil Ghanwate said that the farmers of North India, who did not allow the implementation of agricultural laws, lost the opportunity to increase their own income.
