7 metro stations alerted in Delhi, farmers still adamant on Parliament siege

New Delhi: Farmers agitating on delhi's border against 3 agricultural laws had appealed for parliament siege due to monsoon session. In the same vein, a meeting of farmers was held today with delhi police officials. Due to this, the police tried their best to persuade the farmers. The police want farmers to demonstrate elsewhere instead of outside Parliament. Efforts are being made to persuade them for this.

After the same meeting, farmer leader Darshan Pal said that he spoke to the police. We have told the police that on 22nd July, 200 people will go to Parliament and there, farmers will run Parliament. We never talked about the siege of Parliament. We hope that we will get the nod. Ahead of the meeting, National Spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union Rakesh Tikait had tweeted that 200 of his persons will visit Parliament on July 22. He also asked the opposition persons to raise their point in the House.

With this, 7 metro stations (Janpath, Lok Kalyan Marg, Patel Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Mandi House, Udyog Bhawan) of Delhi NCR were put on alert. So that it can be closed at any time if required. Delhi Metro Police has written to the Metro saying that the farmers have announced the siege of Parliament during the monsoon session. In view of this, these metro stations can be closed if required. Though there is no response from delhi metro, delhi police has reported that due to monsoon session, protesters may reach around Parliament in large numbers through metro train.
