Srinagar: Controversy has intensified over the singing of the 'Raghupati Raghav' hymn in schools in Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, where PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti has targeted the BJP-led central government for this. On the other hand, the stand of former CM and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah seems to be different from Mehbooba Mufti. In fact, he said that he also sings bhajans. What's wrong with that? Actually, Mehbooba Mufti shared a video on 19 September. In that video, children Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram were seen singing in a school. At the same time, Mehbooba Mufti had targeted the central government regarding this.

In fact, she had said 'By imprisoning religious leaders, shutting down Jama Masjid and instructing school children to sing Hindu hymns, the real Hindutva agenda of the Indian government in Kashmir has been exposed.' Now Farooq Abdullah has given his response in this matter. In fact, he said- 'We did not believe in the 2 nation theory. India is not communal and it is secular. I also sing hymns. Is it wrong if I sing bhajans? If a Hindu goes to Ajmer's Dargah, will he become a Muslim?'

Let us tell you that while rejecting these allegations of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, BJP accused her of spreading lies without facts. In fact, in the past, the Jammu and Kashmir Education Departments had given instructions to sing hymns in schools. Yes and instructing children to sing hymns in schools was part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebration. In the order given, it was said that the programs started on the occasion of the 153rd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and also included the singing of Raghupati Raghav in schools. Raghupati Raghav was Gandhi's favourite hymn, so it has been included in these programs.
