Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Friday resigned from the post of National Conference president. Addressing his party workers in Srinagar, Abdullah said his health no longer allows him to lead the party. The new party president will now be elected on December 5. However, it is expected that Farooq's son Omar Abdullah will be unanimously elected president.

According to reports, National Conference spokesman Tanveer Sadi has confirmed Farooq Abdullah's resignation. According to him, now the notification for the election of the post of president will be issued soon. Farooq Abdullah was in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow on November 13. During this, he mourned the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav. He also met Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav. After this, he told the media about the discussions of Akhilesh becoming the Prime Minister and that all the parties will discuss it. You'll have to wait a bit for that.
