Srinagar: National Conference (NC) president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Thursday dismissed Union Home Minister Amit Shah's allegations of promoting separatism against regional parties in the state, saying his party has made sacrifices and many party leaders and workers have been killed due to terrorism in the last 35 years.

While issuing a five-page statement, the former CM said, 'I do not want to be distracted by some things said by Shah about guns and stones. In the last 35 years, my colleagues have made sacrifices. Many National Conference leaders and workers were killed by these guns, which Amit Shah Ji is blaming us for distributing, which is the answer to this allegation.' In fact, while addressing a rally organized in Baramulla in Kashmir Valley on Wednesday (October 5), Amit Shah said that people have a choice of two models… first PM Modi's model, includes development, peace and unity, and employment. There is talk of increasing and the second is the Gupkar model, which allowed the Pulwama attack to happen.

Amit Shah said that the Gupkar model brings Pakistani terrorists, while the Modi model brings an investment of Rs 56,000 crore, creating five lakh jobs. The Home Minister said, 'In the Gupkar model, youth get stones and machine guns in their hands while in Modi model youth get IIT, AIIMS, NEFT and NEET.' Responding to the allegations of corruption levelled by Amit Shah at Baramulla's rally, Abdullah presented an account of the development work done in Jammu and Kashmir during the rule of him and his son Omar Abdullah.
