A new disease has increased the risk amid rising cases of omicron. In fact, at present, there is omicron on one side of the country and bird flu has also knocked on the other. In fact, Kerala has been put on alert over the matter. Several cases of bird flu  have started coming to light here and in view of this, 11,268 ducks have been killed in a day in Kerala. As per the recent information, bird flu has been confirmed in Kottayam district of Kerala.

At the same time, the ducks are now being killed by the administration. Ducks and birds are said to be being killed within a radius of one kilometre of the area where bird flu has been confirmed. Let us also tell all of you that the Rapid Response Team by the Animal Husbandry Department is taking care of the matter. Meanwhile, the burning of the slain ducks is underway.

Let me tell you all that the work of killing and burning ducks is going on at a rapid pace here at the moment. According to reports, 11,268 ducks have been killed and burnt in Aymanam, Kallara and Vechur panchayat areas. At the same time, a total of 18,000 lights have been burnt at Nedumudi and Karuvatta in Alappuzha. Last Wednesday, 2022 ducks were killed in Nedumudi. At the same time, the sale of duck meat or their eggs has been banned in the coming days as bird flu is likely to spread. This can lead to fatality.
