At the December 2021 Tokyo Film Awards in Japan, producer and director, Kumar Raj has been awarded the 'Best Asia Movie Award' for his feature movie "Tara: The Journey of Love and Passion". The Tokyo Movie Awards is a unique movie competition organized by working professionals from the movie and television industry. His programming team is mainly focused on short movies as his main goal is to promote young talent and his vision.

Paramanand Kumar Raj has said, "I am thrilled to see that the movie was recognised on international baccalaureates and especially in Japan. I have run out of words today to explain the joy I am feeling. I am very grateful for all the awards that the film 'Tara' has received, and I hope it will go further."

The Tokyo Film Award team has also said, "We are very impressed with the feature movie Tara produced and directed by Kumar Raj. The movie is amazing and has been honoured at our festival. The movie is going to be shown on our television channels all over Japan after dubbing Tara in Japanese. Kumar Raj has also bagged a diploma in production from zee institute of media arts (ZIMA). As a testimony to his love for cinema and his passion for the industry, he has produced five award-winning feature movies. Kumar Raj has entered the World Book of Records for receiving 226 International Awards and 336 International Movie Festival selections. The shooting of Kumar Raj's next feature film 'Amina' has been completed and is set to release soon.
