New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held the press conference today and released the third installment of the economic package. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's focus was mainly on the category related to animal husbandry and fisheries. She announced several reliefs for these classes. She said that today's announcements are about agriculture and allied activities. India's population is dependent on agriculture. Work is being done on the welfare of farmers and many steps have been taken in the last 5-6 years.

The Finance Minister said that during the lockdown, 74,300 crore rupees have been spent by the government to procure the crop at the minimum support price. Under the Prime Minister Kisan Fund, Rs 18,700 crore has been added to the farmers' account in the last two months. She said that one lakh crore rupees scheme is being launched for agricultural infrastructure. Under this, cold storage will be created which will increase storage capacity. Income of farmers will also increase. Farmers associations, entrepreneurs and start ups will benefit from this.

PM relief package can become lifeline for business

All four corona declarations have been implemented in the fisheries sector. In two months, 242 new shrimp hatchery (fish hatchery) was allowed. A 4 thousand crore rupees scheme has been launched for herbal production. It can be cultivated in 10 lakh hectares i.e. 25 lakh acres. This will benefit the farmers of Rs 5000 crore. The National Medicinal Plants Board has given 2.25 lakh hectares of land for it.
