Starting on October 15, the Finance Ministry will run a special campaign to help more people get bank accounts and Kisan Credit Cards, among other things.

The campaign from October 15 to November 26 will further focus on mobile/Aadhaar seeding of existing accounts, with a special focus on making small accounts normal accounts by doing full know your customer (KYC), as per a series of tweets from the Office of the Finance Minister.

"To further strengthen the Financial Inclusion (FI) framework, @DFS India will run a special campaign from October 15 to November 26, 2022. The campaign will start at the Gram Panchayat (GP) level in seven Indian districts: Cuttack, Odisha, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Pune, Maharashtra, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, Datia, Madhya Pradesh, and Barpeta, Assam."

The campaign will also focus on getting everyone who is eligible to have a bank account, insurance, or pension plan, and giving loans to farmer produce organisations (FPOs) and self-help groups (SHGs) so they can build cold-chain infrastructure.

Also, it will focus on expanding MUDRA and KCC coverage for people who work in animal husbandry, dairy, and fisheries, as well as bringing SHG members into the country's financial ecosystem.

In a separate tweet, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) said, "All Banks and other Financial Sector Organizations of Department of Financial Services have started the month-long Special Campaign 2.0 today, October 2, at various cleanliness sites across the country."

During October 2 to 31, 2022, the campaign will be about cleanliness (Swachhata) and other things. During this time, the number of pending cases, such as MPs' references and state government references, should go down.
